magnetic coupled pumps
magnetic coupled pumps
How it works:
A magnetic coupled pump combines conventional pump hydraulics with a permanent magnetic drive system. Power is transmitted contactlessly by magnetic forces between two coupling halves equipped with magnets. A containment shell hermetically separates the product chamber from the environment, ensuring perfect sealing.
Advantages of the magnetic coupled pump:
- Absolute tightness: No leaks thanks to hermetic sealing without dynamic seals
- Low maintenance: Wear-resistant and easy to maintain thanks to the absence of mechanical seals
- Ideal for hazardous media: Suitable for toxic, odorous and hazardous liquids
- High temperature resistance: Works at temperatures of up to 300°C
- Safe operation: No risk of product spillage or leaks
Areas of application for the magnetic coupled pump:
- Chemical and petrochemical industry
- Galvanic industry for volatile liquids
- Pharmaceutical and biotech industry
Restrictions:
- Efficiency: Metallic containment shells can cause eddy current losses and reduce efficiency
- Not suitable for solids-containing or highly viscous media: Due to narrow gaps, such media are problematic
- Higher acquisition costs: Complex design leads to higher initial investment
Despite some limitations, the magnetic coupled pump offers an indispensable solution for applications where absolute tightness and safe operation are required.
